The Registry is an architect-designed 20-unit residential development in the heart of historic downtown Plymouth; one block from the waterfront, fine dining, pubs as well as entertainment and historical sites. While maintaining the character and integrity of this century old structure, the developer/builder has transformed the structure into an artisan inspired residential complex using only the finest materials.
The eco-friendly renovation features 20 unique layouts, and offers spacious garden style one-level one and two-bedroom units. Each unit is individually designed with careful attention given to modern lifestyles, sweeping waterviews, high-end finishes and restoring the historic charm of a local landmark. Balconies, private patios, covered parking, professionally designed grounds all in the heart of historic downtown Plymouth make The Registry one of the most sought after residences on the South Shore.
Constructed in 1904, The Registry building has been a local landmark for over a century. The Registry building was an active government facility processing and housing public deed records. In addition, the second floor also served as the land court and is still donning the architectural features of an artisan-crafted courtroom including oak walls and vaulted ceilings. Over the years, as the South Shore population grew, an addition was added to the rear of the building. No expense was spared and the architect and skilled work force maintained the same design and craftsmanship as the original structure. This magnificent structure was a vital part of the community until the mid-2000s when the Registry of Deeds moved to the new court house on Obery Street. In recent years, the Registry building has been an unoccupied and neglected part of the community. This renovation marks not only the revitilization of a beloved part of the community, but also a key part of the return to active residential life in downtown Plymouth.
Built in the traditional fortified manner of the turn-of-the-century, the Registry was designed and constructed to last for centuries. Granite foundations, triple-wide brick walls, oversized timbers and steel trusses are just a few of the structural components originally used and still in place. Boosting granite window lentiles, handmade wood doors, wrought iron rails, custom marble staircases and period architectural design elements, the Registry retains the granduer of its original character while adapting to today’s lifestyles.

Mechanical: The heating and cooling for each unit is provided by a system composed of three parts:
Heating: Each unit has a gas-fired water heater and provides each unit with both domestic hot water and heat for the heating system. The water heater is located in a mechanical closet, typically next to the air handler. For producing heat for the heating system, the water heater sends hot water to a coil in the air handler through a loop of piping. The air handler then moves air over the heated coil, heating the air as it is distributed throughout the dwelling via ductwork.
Cooling: The A/C condenser produces cooling via a compressor and refrigerant piping. The air handler consists of a fan that moves air over the coil with cooled refrigerant in it, cooling the air and distributing it throughout the dwelling via ductwork.
Ventilation: Ceiling exhaust fans in bathrooms vented to exterior. Dryer exhaust will vent to exterior.
NOTE: This outline represents the Developer’s intention regarding the extent, quality and completeness of the interior finishes and amenities of the complex. The Developer reserves the right to modify any of the above specifications. Substitutions will be of comparable quality.
